Murgh Musallam


1 4 or 5 pound chicken,
cut into pieces
1-inch piece ginger
1 medium clove garlic
1 large onion
butter
1 teaspoon turmeric (curuma longa)
1 teaspoon cumin seed
2-inch piece of cinnamon
4 cloves
crushed red pepper
to taste
2 caradomoms
1 teaspoon salt
5 large tomatoes, skinned
and cut into small pieces
1 tablespoon molasses
